Michele is seeing clients in the Broken Bow office. Michele Taylor graduated from the University of Nebraska at Kearney with her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology in May 2002 and with her Master’s Degree in Community Counseling in 2006. Michele obtained her Licensed Mental Health Practitioner status in May 2009 after completing her internship with Wholeness Healing Center and entering into practice for about a year./p>
Michele believes in utilizing a person’s strengths to overcome challenges and improve satisfaction of life. Michele practices Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy among other techniques. Michele facilitates the Co-Parenting for Successful Kids Course and the Love and Logic Course. Michele is interested in working with people of all ages. She holds a special interest in geriatric clients as well as children and their families.
ExperienceMichele has experience in working with adolescents who have been adopted, guardianshipped or are in foster care, aiding them in preparing for a healthy, productive future through the education of transition skills. Most recently Michele facilitated two after school programs working with youth ages five to thirteen. As the program director of the after school programs, Michele educated, supported, guided and aided development with students and their families around the topics of behavior management, developmental concerns, relationship challenges, family dynamics, bullying issues, among other topics.
Michele’s experience also includes working with geriatric clients in regards to grief/loss, depression, anxiety, suicidality through individual and group therapy settings as well as marriage and family therapy. She has a special interest in this population and enjoys aiding the geriatric population in finding the joy in life once again. Michele recently has experience in facilitating support groups for geriatric clients as well as providing individual sessions in the areas of grief, emotion management, abuse/neglect, trauma, anxiety, depression, personality disorders, among others.
In addition Michele has several years of experience working with survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault and child abuse/trauma.
Michele has developed a curriculum for emotion management that she utilizes with all ages.
TrainingMichele has training in the areas of child development, bullying, behavior management, emotion management, family dynamics, abuse/neglect, stress management, anxiety/panic disorders and art therapy. She is trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy.
Personal InterestsIn her free time, Michele enjoys the outdoors through camping, paddle boarding, and boating. She also loves to travel and has a goal to travel to each state. Michele enjoys spending time with her husband and five-year old son, as well as friends.
