Michelle Stoller began working at Wholeness Healing Center in November 2015 and is seeing clients in the Grand Island and Kearney offices. She completed her undergraduate internship at the S.A.F.E. Center in Kearney, working with survivors of domestic and sexual violence. Her graduate practicum was completed at Richard H. Young Hospital in Kearney, providing mental health services and case management to adults.
Michelle believes in the importance of building trusting relationships with clients and understands the difficulties a person faces may occur due to any number of circumstances. It is never too late to make changes and create a more satisfying life.
EducationMichelle graduated from the University of Nebraska at Omaha in August 2015 with a Master of Social Work degree. She received her Bachelor of Science in Social Work degree from the University of Nebraska at Kearney in December 2012 and received a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary and Early Childhood Education in May 1998.
ExperienceMichelle gained experience working with people with depression, anxiety, borderline personality disorder, substance use, and other conditions while completing her practicum at Richard H. Young Hospital. She facilitated the daily therapy group and provided individual therapy for adult patients.
While completing her internship at the S.A.F.E. Center in Kearney, Michelle provided personal advocacy to help clients set goals and work toward their goals to become self-sufficient. She also provided crisis care to clients.
Michelle was a CASA (Court-Appointed Special Advocate) in Buffalo County and provided advocacy for children in foster care. She worked as a team with the family and other professionals to be a voice for the children.
Michelle is a member of the National Association of Social Workers.
TrainingsMichelle has received training in Advocacy for Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault survivors and has attended conferences on Elder Abuse, Crimes of Power and Control, and Trauma Across the Lifespan. She is trained in Dialectical Behavior Training.
PersonalMichelle lives in the Kearney area with her husband, daughter and son. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, attending her children’s activities, reading, and gardening.
