Licensed Mental Health Practitioner
Susan Milner is a licensed mental health practitioner. She began working at Wholeness Healing Center during her internship beginning in March 2013. She works in the Grand Island office.
EducationSusan received her Master’s Degree in Counseling from Doane College in February of 2014 and earned her BA in Liberal Arts from Doane College in May of 2011.
ExperienceSusan provides individual, child, adolescent, couples and family therapy, specializing in depression, anxiety, grief, trauma and compulsive disorders. She works with EAP clients using Solution Focused Brief Therapy practice. She is certified in neurobiofeedback which can be used for a variety of issues, as well as peak performance training. She is also trained in dialectical behavioral therapy and co-facilitates weekly DBT Skills Group at Wholeness Healing Center.
Susan has experience working with family challenges when finding themselves in a caregiver role. Her experience with special needs children and those who provide support is of great concern for her in working toward ways to become successful in therapy and life while maintaining the difficult struggles unique to their situations.
Her most current work experience included the Employee Assistance Program Administrator at Wholeness Healing Center since 2012. Susan will continue to provide “well-being” life coaching for clients through Progressive Executive Coaching. She is a certified trainer in Emergenetics, a self-assessment profile which is used for individual and team development. As an Emergenetics trainer, Milner provides one-on-one coaching and team development workshops facilitating communication and enhancing both personal and team effectiveness.
TrainingsSusan has attended trainings in DSM IV, Treatment for Adolescent Substance Abuse, Delinquency and Criminal Conduct and the Adult Severity Index Assessment, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Neurobiofeedback, Peak Performance Training, Emergenetics.
PersonalSusan is married to Jerry and has two children, Rhett and Molly who keep her focused on the most important aspects of life. Susan’s personal mission in life is to reach her best potential and to help others achieve theirs also. In her leisure time she loves to play golf and be outdoors in nature. In addition, Susan also enjoys the creative writing process, reading great books and exploring spiritual truths.
