Hello, I'm

Intern MSW Student
Hello, my name is Jade Prusia. I am a practicum student from the University of Nebraska at Omaha. I will graduate from the University of Nebraska at Omaha in August 2022 with a master’s degree in social work. I earned my bachelor\’s degree in multidisciplinary studies in the concentration of psychology from the University of Nebraska at Omaha in 2020. I also earned my associate degree in chemical dependency counseling and a specialist diploma in general human services from Metropolitan Community College in 2007.
Experience
I did internships as a chemical dependency counselor in 2007. I have worked as a youth care worker and group facilitator for chemical dependency group in 2008. I held my provisional license as a drug and alcohol counselor until September of 2012 and reapplying for my license in 2022. I took a time to be with my boys and worked at a day care from 2011 to 2017. I also worked with special education kids at a local high school as a paraprofessional from 2017 to 2020. I did an internship as a central access navigator with foster care youth ranging from ages 14 to 26 years old, helping find resources to provide them a path to a successful future in 2021.
Personal
I have been married for 10 years and have three boys. We love to make crafts together. In my free time, I like to make diaper cakes. My parents are deaf so my first language is sign language. I grew up in the deaf community. I am fluent in sign language and have a passion for helping others. I am interested in working with the deaf and hard of hearing community. I am excited to start my journey with you all!
