Erica graduated with a Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Nebraska at Omaha in August 2014 and completed her Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Nebraska at Kearney in 2007. Erica did her internship at Wholeness Healing Center, prior to joining the team full time in August of 2014. She works out of both the Grand Island and Kearney offices.
Erica believes in a strength based approach and that everyone has strengths that can be built upon in order to facilitate change. Erica is interested in working with people of all ages, providing individual, couples and family therapy. Erica has a special interest in working in the areas of depression, anxiety and trauma.
Prior to joining Wholeness Healing Center, Erica worked in child welfare for over six years in a number of different capacities in the Tri-City area. Erica’s experience includes direct-care staff in a treatment facility for juveniles, providing change services to at-risk families and as a caseworker with the Department of Health and Human Services.
Erica has attended a number of trainings in child abuse and neglect, domestic violence, child sexual abuse and the effects of poverty on families. She is trained in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and is has facilited an adolescent boys group and a women’s group in DBT skills.
Erica enjoys spending time outdoors, walking her dogs, working on craft projects, visiting with friends and family and traveling.
