Intern Sara Sayles
Hello, I’m Sara Sayles. I’m working on finishing my Master’s in Social Work with a graduation timeframe of Spring 2023 through the University of Nebraska at Omaha, where I also earned my bachelor’s in psychology. I cannot wait to graduate and explore my future as a therapist and utilize what I will be learning through my internship.
In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my friends, family, and my dogs. I love to play board games and video games while still finding time for Dungeons and Dragons. It would be fantastic to incorporate some of these elements into my career.
I have had the opportunity to work in multiple areas of social work. From 2017 to 2020, I worked with foster families in the Omaha metro as a foster care specialist. During this time, a passion for helping others grew, leading to my decision to focus on mental health services. With this epiphany, I furthered my expertise by shifting to my current job as a daytime coordinator, where I’ve been since 2020, where I facilitate meals and therapeutic groups for high-risk clients.
I am excited to learn from our counselors and more about the services Wholeness Healing Center provides for children, adolescents, adults, and couples. I will be starting a DBT group for teens on Telehealth in the next few months and I will be offering pro bono services until I graduate.
