Introduction to Heather Rankin
I am very exited and so blessed to have this opportunity to join the Wholeness Healing Center team. I received my BA in Psychology and Criminal Justice and then my MS Ed in Community Counseling from the University of Nebraska at Kearney. For my internship, I moved to California and lived and worked at a residential treatment facility for adults in recovery following a traumatic brain injury. I also had the opportunity to work with the program owner and director in his private practice with clients individually and in a group setting.
Following my master’s program, I lived and worked in California for the next ten years as a social worker for foster family agencies in Riverside, San Bernardino, and Los Angeles county. I specialized in working with the foster parents to create a stable and loving environment for the minors placed in their homes, as well as working with the minors to ensure they were meeting their goals and having their needs met while in the home.
I am looking forward to working with all populations including children, adolescents, young adults, couples and families. I will be working out of the Grand Island office three days a week and two days a week will be doing home-based work in my area of Albion, Newman Grove, Spaulding and Greeley. I live on a farm between Albion and Newman Grove with my husband and three children. We have two dogs and two show calves at our house right now and are looking to add some new animals.
In my spare time, I enjoy reading, doing yoga, walking outside, and landscaping. My husband and I enjoy traveling when we can get away. Both of our families live close by us, so we are always involved in doing things with them. Our summers are often full of outside activities, working with the cattle, county fairs and swimming!
