Wholeness Healing Today

Staff Introduction – Rachel Kohlman

Rachel Kohlman is a Provisionally Licensed Mental Health Practitioner with a master’s degree in Military and Emergency Responder Psychology from Colorado State University Global (2025) and a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from Central Christian College in McPherson, Kansas. She also holds an associate degree in paramedicine from Northeast Community College and completed her internship with Wholeness Healing Center in 2025.

With over 24 years of experience in the first responder field, Rachel continues to volunteer with Polk Fire and Rescue. Her extensive background has given her firsthand insight into the impact of traumatic events on both first responders and the communities they serve. Rachel is committed to a holistic approach to wellness and holds a CCISM certification, volunteering with both the Nebraska Critical Incident Stress Management Team and the Nebraska Serious Injury and Line of Duty Death Response Team.

As the lead instructor for Mental Health Curriculum at the Nebraska Law Enforcement Training Center, Rachel has played a key role in developing crisis response programs and actively participates in statewide crisis intervention initiatives. Her formal training includes suicide prevention, crisis intervention, trauma-informed care, and controlling access to lethal means. Rachel’s passion lies in supporting first responders and military communities, helping individuals and families stay connected and resilient.

Through her experiences in the first responder field Rachel feels a deep calling to help people feel seen and understood, and knows people are inherently resilient, even when their stories are painful. Rachel hopes to bring warmth, humor, and groundedness to each session while creating a real genuine connection with her clients. Rachel has experienced work with a diverse population and considers herself an ally to the LGBTQ+ community. Her approach to counseling is putting the client at the center of therapy, focusing on the mind-body connection, and viewing issues through trauma-focused and attachment-based lenses. “Across all ages, I’m passionate about exploring themes of authenticity, belonging and emotional regulation- helping clients understand themselves in deeper, kinder ways”. She wants to support clients in developing tools for inner safety and emotional clarity, not just behavioral change.

In her free time, Rachel enjoys small town living, playing with her children, and working out. Rachel enjoys volunteering in her community, including the local fire and rescue, American Legion Auxiliary, and assisting with various activities with her children. In her spare time you may find her riding motorcycles or cruising in her jeep, completing crafts, spending time outside, and enjoying time with family and friends.
