Wholeness Healing Today

Staff Introduction

I am very excited for the opportunity to be joining the team at Wholeness Healing Center as a mental health practitioner and provisional drug and alcohol counselor. I look forward to serving the Grand Island community as I return to my hometown to be closer to loved ones and pursue my professional goals as an outpatient therapist. I obtained my Bachelor of Science degree in Family Studies with
a minor in Gerontology in 2012 and my Master of Science in Education degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in 2016 at the University of Nebraska at Kearney.

I most recently worked as a (provisional) mental health practitioner for the Nebraska Department of Correctional Services at the Omaha Correctional Center working with male inmates ranging from 19 years of age up,where I co-facilitated psychoeducational groups, skills development groups, and interpersonal process groups which included sexual offender group therapy, anger management, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy skills groups. I provided individual counseling and crisis intervention
to inmates with concerns related to anxiety, depression, trauma-related disorders, schizophrenia, substance use disorders, co-occurring disorders, and personality disorders. I completed my drug and alcohol internship at Community Outpatient Services at the Omaha State Parole office for individuals on work release or parole in the Omaha area. In this role, I facilitated and co-facilitated pre-treatment parole violators groups, intensive outpatient groups, and outpatient groups. Also, I gained experience in conducting drug and alcohol evaluations and assessments while working with intensive outpatient
programming participants as well as adolescents at the Nebraska Correctional Youth Facility.

Prior to working at the prison, I completed my internship at CHI Richard Young Behavioral Health in Kearney, Nebraska. I worked with adolescents and young adults providing acute counseling for issues
such as depression, anxiety, trauma, suicidal ideation, and homicidal ideation. I have received continued education/training in the following: Dialectical Behavior Therapy; Cognitive Behavioral Therapy; Schema-Focused Therapy; Sexual Offender Risk Assessments; The Good Lives Model of Offender
Rehabilitation; Risk, Need, Responsivity (RNR) Model, Self-Regulation Model of Sexual Offending (SRM-R); Motivational Interviewing; Positive Psychology.

In my spare time I enjoy spending quality time with family/friends, being outdoors in nature, doing
craft projects, traveling, and reading. I am excited to begin my new journey at Wholeness Healing Center as I have always had a passion for helping others and strongly believe in the importance of living a balanced life through holistic wellness. For every season of life there is meaning and purpose; it is my role as a counselor to be a part of my client’s journey of self-discovery. I will be providing therapy for children, adolescents, and adults in individual, group, and family counseling sessions for mental health and/or substance use concerns. Also, I will be conducting sexual offender assessments as well as drug and alcohol assessments and evaluations. I am currently accepting clients of all populations. If you are interested in scheduling an appointment, please contact 308-382-5297.
