Abbott Sisters Internship Program (ASIP) – Introducing Bobbi Barnes

Bobbi Barnes

Hello, I’m Bobbi Barnes. I’m working to finish my Master’s in Social Work and currently practice as a Certified Social Worker in Grand Island. I am scheduled to graduate in the Summer of 2022 from the University of Nebraska at Omaha and earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Nebraska at Kearney in 2020.

I have had the opportunity to complete three other practicums prior to this one. I completed a practicum with Boys Town Central Nebraska. I also completed one with South Central Behavioral Services in the Children Services Department and was hired on after to work as a support staff and Interim Resource Development Specialist. In August 2020, I completed a practicum with St. Francis Medical Center which is where I currently work.

I am excited to learn from our counselors. This is a new area for me, and I cannot wait to learn about all of the services Wholeness healing Center provides. I am interested in working with children/adolescents, and adults.

In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my friends and family. I love to attend my sisters’ sports and extracurricular activities. But mostly, I spend a lot of time on homework. I am excited to graduate next summer and see what opportunities the future brings.
