Hello, I'm
Christina Larsen
Licensed Mental Health Practitioner
Christina Larsen is a Licensed Mental Health Practitioner. Christina believes relationships are the cornerstone of the work of a counselor. Sitting and visiting with someone who really understands can give someone the confidence needed to open up and be vulnerable. She loves getting to know people, building trust with them, and empathizing with the situations they face. The relationship is the most important part of therapy, giving people the power to heal in ways they are not able to on their own. Her approach to counseling includes cognitive behavior therapy and solution focused therapy. She is planning to continue her growth as a professional by studying different intervention techniques that she can bring to her work with children and adults.
Education and Work History
Christina graduated from Lamar University in Beaumont, TX with a Master’s in School Counseling in 2017, and finished the certificate program in clinical mental health counseling from Lamar in May 2021. Christina also earned a Master’s degree in Literacy from Concordia University in 2016 and a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary and Early Childhood Education from Wayne State College in 2006. Christina worked as an educator for fourteen years, and as a school counselor for six years. She completed an internship with Wholeness Healing Center in the spring of 2021.
Family and Fun
Christina and her husband were married in 2005 and have three children. She enjoys life on the farm, playing with her children, and long walks with her dog. She finds fulfillment by doing volunteer work for the community, including working with her children’s 4-H club. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with family and friends, landscape photography, snuggling up with a good book, watching romantic comedies, and spending time outside.
