Keesha McQuay, PLMHP, PLCSW, is a trauma-informed therapist who works with children, teens, adults, and parents navigating overwhelming life experiences. She is especially passionate about supporting individuals impacted by complex trauma, attachment challenges, and major life transitions. Keesha strives to create a space where people feel safe, understood, and supported as they explore what healing looks like for them.
Keesha’s therapeutic style is warm, down-to-earth, and collaborative. She believes therapy should feel human and accessible, and may incorporate humor, curiosity, and strategies while remaining grounded in evidence-based practice. She values meeting clients where they are and moving at a pace that feels respectful and empowering.
With nearly a decade of experience, Keesha has worked in a variety of roles supporting families involved in foster care, adoption, and disability services. She brings a strong trauma-informed lens to her work and is committed to creating inclusive, affirming spaces that honor each client’s lived experience. Keesha actively engages in anti-racism and equity-focused professional development.
Keesha earned her Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from the University of Nebraska at Kearney and her Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Nebraska at Omaha. She has training in Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Integrative Attachment Family Therapy.
In collaboration with co-facilitators, Keesha helped develop Grapple With Your Past, a research-informed trauma group that integrates psychoeducation with Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu to support healing through movement and embodied resilience.
Outside of clinical work, Keesha enjoys training in mixed martial arts, watching anime, thrifting, making embroidery, and spending quiet time with a book and a cup of tea. She is currently based in Grand Island and provides services in Kearney part-time. Keesha welcomes clients from all walks of life and feels honored to walk alongside individuals as they navigate growth and healing.
