Discover the Power of EMDR Therapy at WHC

At WHC, we are pleased to offer Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), a highly effective therapeutic approach for healing trauma and other emotional challenges. Most of our therapists are trained in this healing modality and are highly trained in trauma-informed care. Let me share how it can benefit you or your loved ones.
EMDR is a structured, evidence-based therapy that helps people process and resolve distressing memories or experiences. Unlike traditional talk therapy, EMDR focuses on helping the brain “reprocess” traumatic memories so they no longer have the same emotional intensity or hold over your daily life.
During an EMDR session, your therapist will guide you through recalling specific distressing memories while using bilateral stimulation. This often involves eye movements (from side to side), tapping, or auditory tones. This process helps “unstick” the memory and integrate it into your broader life story in a healthier, less painful way.
EMDR is particularly effective for individuals who have experienced:
- Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
- Anxiety or panic disorders
- Grief and Loss
- Phobias
- Childhood trauma or neglect
- Stress related to major life changes.
It is also helpful for those who feel “stuck” in patterns of emotional distress or who struggle to process past events that continue to impact their mental well-being.
Our team of highly skilled and compassionate therapists is trained in EMDR and ready to guide you through your healing journey. They bring expertise and care to every session, ensuring you feel supported and empowered.
EMDR therapy at WHC is personalized to meet your unique needs, helping you achieve greater emotional freedom and balance.
Your EMDR journey will begin with a thorough assessment of your needs and history. Your therapist will help you identify the memories or emotions causing distress and create a safe environment to explore them. As the therapy progresses, you may find relief from symptoms and discover a new sense of clarity and peace. EMDR can be done in person or via Telehealth.
