E Squared: A Book Review
I have been working on setting positive forward intention, really focusing on controlling my focus. To that end, I picked up the book E2 by Pam Grout, a book of nine do-it yourself experiments, which should take about 21 days. I didn’t do it start to finish, but would do one every so often and then let them lie for a while. The book is about transforming energy, with the proof being the experiments suggested in the book.
Grout writes about the “space heater”, the invisible energy force that is always available in our lives, but which we don’t really focus on, or even totally accept. I had loved the lessons in The Secret and believe in the Law of Affirmation, so I was excited to try the experiments. The book actually allows you opportunity to test the theory that we can create the reality with your thoughts, if we really let go of our sense of control and allow the Universe to bring it in. The field of potentiality is infinite.
Okay, so this is a book you have to read, as I can’t tell you all the experiments but let me give you a taste of them and how I tested a couple of them. On one of them, asking for a sign by setting up a goal, I asked for three high plays in Words With Friends. I enjoy playing the game and really dislike playing a few letters for a small score, so just thought I would put it out there. Within 2 hours, actually within a ½ hour of asking for single play scores of over 50, I played tiles to score 112, 62, and 84 points! Boy, was I a believer!
On another one, I set an intention about finding feathers. Every time I turned around, I saw a feather on the ground. By the end of that experiment, I had a handful of feathers and those of you who know me know how meaningful feathers are to me!
Now I have asked for other things, other more sensible and meaningful things, and those things too have come into fruition. Some quite quickly, some in ways I didn’t expect, and some still developing.
Grout writes of Peter and Eileen Caddy of Scotland, the couple who grew the garden with huge cabbages in a place not meant for growing anything. Today they live in a prosperous spiritual community, designed initially just to provide for their family, and now serving as a place people travel to as they do their own journey to find a higher truth. According to Peter Caddy, “You can bring about anything by your thoughts. Align yourself with God consciousness and you can bring about truth in material form. What you think, you create”. (Grout, 2013)
Grout also writes, “Praying is not a matter of bribing God. It’s simply understanding the higher laws that override the lower law of the physical plane . . . . .You have to live under the assumption that your intention has already happened. You have to feel as if it has already come to pass – to get those ducks lined up . . . to get all those waves in laser-like coherence”. (Grout, 2013)
The book has many lines which I found true and valuable, too many to quote here, but I would leave you with this: “Our inner guidance is reliable and constantly available” and that “there is a natural law of abundance and that everything’s okay – you can relax”. (Grout, 2013). Read the book. Do the experiments. Begin focusing on the three tenets she recommends (1. You are awesome. 2. The great field of potentiality is unlimited. 3. We are all in this together.) Begin appreciating who you are as well as those around you.
