Wholeness Healing Today

Introduction to Staff – Samantha Elder

Hello, I am Samantha Elder and I’m a Provisionally Licensed Mental Health Practitioner. I am thrilled to join the Wholeness Healing Center team. It is a pleasure to be part of a practice that values and invests in its providers and communities. I have known since a young age that I wanted to assist and be part of others’ mental health journeys. Building human connections and being able to empower others is one of the most rewarding feelings for me. I strive to provide a safe and understanding space for any client that I work with.

I first attended Northeast Community College where I graduated with my associate of Arts degree in Social Work in 2018. During that time, I completed an internship at the Norfolk Veteran’s Home where I assisted with cognitive testing and case management. In 2020, I graduated with my Bachelor of Science degree in Social Work Comprehensive at the University of Nebraska-Kearney. Throughout this time, I completed an internship at the Community Action Partnership of Mid-NE Head Start. I conducted home visits, and developmental assessments and helped families set goals related to their child’s development and family’s strengths. Upon graduating, I worked at CHI Health Good Samaritan Hospital for 3 years where I worked as a Social Worker Care Manager. In this role, I assisted patients with discharge planning, family meetings, resource connections, and biopsychosocial assessments. In 2022, I graduated with my master’s degree in social work at the University of Nebraska-Omaha. During this time, I completed my practicum experience at CHI Health Good Samaritan Hospital and Richard Young Behavioral Health Hospital where I conducted individual, group, and family therapy. More recently, I have had experience at a private practice based out of Kearney, NE.

I currently live in North Carolina with my husband and our dog. Therefore, I plan to see clients via telehealth. I am originally from the Sandhills of Nebraska and grew up in a very rural community. I have lived in Kearney for the past 5 years and I am excited to keep connections in the area. In my free time, I enjoy exploring whether that’s traveling, walking a new trail, or meeting others. If I’m not out and about, one could typically find me curled up on the couch reading or catching up on a show.
