STAFF INTRODUCTION Emily Morris

Hi! My name is Emily Morris, and I am excited for the opportunity to serve as an intern with Wholeness Healing Center! I am currently working on my master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy through Concordia University-Nebraska. I also have a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Development and Family Studies from Colorado State University.
I live in Grand Island and look forward to working with couples, families, and individuals of all ages and background. I am passionate about providing people with a safe and supportive space to discuss or work through whatever they need. Whether someone wants to explore and resolve wounds from the past or figure out practical next steps to help with a present-day concern, I am happy to partner with you from whatever point you are starting from. My desire is to help each person get to a healthier place that is characterized by strength and hope. I am still figuring out which therapeutic approaches most resonate with me, but I anticipate using a mixture of evidence-based practices, cognitive-behavioral therapy, family systems, psychodynamic theory, attachment-related therapies, and strengths-based positive psychology.
Though I am originally from Colorado and am refreshed by time in the mountains, I thoroughly love Nebraska culture, people, and scenery. I married a Grand Island native, and we have two wonderful teen/pre-teens. We spend a lot of time at this stage running the kids around, but I cherish the time with them and enjoy watching them grow and thrive! When I’m not working on schoolwork or attending to family needs, I love good coffee, running, chips & queso, theology, quality conversation with friends, movie nights with the kids, and traveling or eating out as the budget allows.
