Samantha Elder is a Provisionally Licensed Mental Health Practitioner who received her master’s degree in social work from the University of Nebraska-Omaha in 2022 and her bachelor’s degree in social work Comprehensive from the University of Nebraska-Kearney. Samantha also holds an associate degree in social work from Northeast Community College. She is thrilled to join the Wholeness Healing Center Team as a telehealth provider. Samantha values building connections with her clients and getting to know them. She prioritizes providing a safe and understanding space for her clients. Samantha often uses cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, and strengths-based therapy. She is very familiar with working with families, adolescents, couples, and adults.
In recent years, Samantha has had experience working as a medical social worker and as a therapist. During her experience as a medical social worker, she was able to assist her patients with case management, connecting them to resources and helping them navigate the healthcare system. As a therapist, Samantha has experience providing group, individual, couples, and family therapy. She has experience in both inpatient and outpatient settings. She has had formal training and/or experience in suicide prevention, crisis intervention, trauma-informed care, and grief work. Throughout all of her experience, this has helped Samantha assist her clients with reaching their goals, better understanding themselves, and processing through their trauma.
Outside of work, Samantha enjoys staying active, traveling, and spending time with her husband and dog. She loves trying new things whether it’s experiences, food, books, or travel. Samantha currently lives in North Carolina but lived in Nebraska her whole life prior. She is excited to serve clients in Nebraska through telehealth services.
