Adjunct Modalities: Round 2, Reiki Opportunities

Last year I began this series, hoping to educate and inform readers of different healing modalities in our area. I featured Vibroacoustic options, at Mind, Body, Balance, and Breathe at Gothenburg, at Sana Vida in Grand Island, and at Finding Your Frequency in Grand Island. I then turned my attention to the practice of Reiki and wish to showcase 3 Reiki practitioners in the area.

I first had a Reiki session with Angie Fisk, who is a Reiki Master and Licensed Massage Therapist located at Fisk Chiropractic in Hastings. I opted for the massage and Reiki combination session, which I truly enjoyed. Angie recently completed training also for the Holy Fire Reiki technique, which is about “seeking the root cause in the body”. She has several options, including Chakra massage, cupping, different combinations, or separate Reiki sessions, as well as some reflexology and crystal healing. Angie also includes healing hertz soundwave therapy in each session. Angela is located at 422 N. Hastings Ave., #201, in Hastings, and can be reached at 402.834.0224. She also has a Facebook page which further explains some of her offerings. I highly recommend the combo Reiki and massage!
My second opportunity actually took me back to Harmonious Holistic Health in Grand Island, with Reiki practitioner Julie Stutzman. In addition, Pumpkin, her dog assistant, is also available to help guide the healing, which is a really nice added bonus. Julie has been practicing Reiki since 2021. Several practitioners work out of the same offices, with each offering individual sessions and services. Harmonious Holistic Health is located at 364 N. Walnut Street in Grand Island, can be reached at 402.460.0933, and they also have a Facebook page, which you can access to get to know Julie better, as well as get an idea of her Reiki services.

My final session for this article was with Karen Ackermann, who practices under the business name Essentially Balanced, with offices in Kearney and McCook and she also offers distant services, which are usually options with Reiki. I had a session with her at her Kearney office, but she did share that her McCook office also features gems, crystals, jewelry, lots of fine items, which I am sure I need to check out! Her session was a bit different, as she gives clients a printout so you can revisit your experience a bit, with recommendations about chakras, oils, crystals, and frequencies which might be helpful. Karen also offers Oracle card reading and Sound Baths, with singing bowls, and she has a Facebook page, which you can check to find her offerings, or to contact her for a session. Karen can be seen in Kearney at 707 Talmadge Ave., or check out when she might be offering services in other areas, by going to her Facebook site (Essentially Balanced) or her Instagram (KAREN.ESSENTIALLY BALANCED)

My purpose with these articles is not to compare but to highlight. All my sessions were different from each other, as were the practitioners themselves. I thoroughly enjoyed each one, had a different experience with each one, and truly learned something different about myself with each one. I was pleased that all of them practice in a different area (Hastings, Grand Island, Kearney/McCook) so it is nice to know that the Reiki modality is fairly easily accessible to people in central Nebraska.
If you don’t know about Reiki, do some research and then check out Angela Fisk, Julie Stutzman, and Karen Ackermann, browse their Facebook sites, and try a session or two. You will benefit greatly and enjoy the sessions. I am so pleased that this modality is available, especially when people who are focusing on their self-care want to take their inner work to a deeper level.
