Adjunct Modalities Round 3, Rocks, Gems, Crystals and More
A year ago, I began this series, hoping to educate and inform readers of different healing modalities in our area. With that in mind, I have participated and interviewed others who have some things to offer in differing ways. Following up the Reiki article from Round 2, and the Vibroacoustic article from Round 1, I want to share some information about a couple businesses in the area that feature crystals, and more!
I first visited with Karen Green of Karen’s Comfort Crystals, located at Arcadia, NE. Karen has been in the crystal business for over 30 years, and she travels to many shows throughout the year. She features classes in bracelet making, intention bottles, wire wrapping, and fairy gardens, just to name a few. She often hosts these classes in other towns, at other businesses when she is not at a show or restocking her inventory.
Karen’s Comfort Crystals is a small town business, located in a small shed beside her house. Inside that business, you will find drums, towers, spheres, as well as a large inventory of glorious pieces to carry in your medicine bag or feature on your altar. She has hanging pieces, large and small crystals, incense, sage, etc., as well as dragons, animal fetishes, and some just “magical pieces” that help to move a person. In addition, she has the greatest knowledge about the pieces, the properties, the uses, and the recommendations. Karen is located at 340 Rounds ST. in Arcadia, is on Facebook, and business phone is 308.870.1195. Call ahead and you will get the most personable tour through her business! If you are looking to add to your collection or to gift a friend, you can always find a gem at Karen’s.
My 2nd visit was to Old Towne Alchemy in Kearney at their new location. The Zen Den, at 1917 Central Ave. is still at the previous location, while Old Town Alchemy has moved into a larger place a block north at 2017 Central Ave. Erica began with a Facebook page and in her basement in 2019, doing live shows. She has since expanded to the two locations in Kearney.
Erica shared with me that they feature many retail items, with most crystals having an educational piece to accompany. They also have classes with featured speakers or facilitators, and the place also has books, kits, rocks of all kinds, various crystals, as well as most anything a “rock lover” would want. They also feature the “Mystic Market”, the last Sunday of the month, where they have 10-12 modalities available, with readers, collaborators, as well as other forms of “therapy”. Erica does Reiki, Crystal Reiki, Custom Chakra sets, ear candling and Raindrop therapy. She is certified in Crystal Healing. There is also a Yoga studio available. An Oracle Reader and an Intuitive Medium are onsite weekly.
Old Town Alchemy is on Facebook and has a website. You can reach them at vagro.com/moonflowerhealing or stop by their conveniently located place in Kearney. Phone is 308.708.7391.
While there are numerous online options available, I love to browse, to touch, to pick up and feel my stones when I purchase. Of course, there are many rocks, stones, gems, and crystals in both of these places, but they also have so much more! Shopping locally is important to me, and I love to hear about the properties, the uses, and just to “feel” others’ connections to what they are selling. Be sure to check out both of these when you have the opportunity.
