Wholeness Healing Today

Chanting and Meditation

Meditation is a great way to “gift” oneself time, quiet, and calm. In our all-too-busy world, we must make time for ourselves. Meditation is one way to do that. Meditation can be done in several ways, sitting on the floor, lying in bed, sitting in a chair, walking, running, etc. At Wholeness Healing Center, we offer a way to do meditation weekly. Every Thursday morning, from 7:30 to 8:00, we offer a meditation in the downstairs conference room (or the meditation room, as I like to call it.) There is always a facilitator, and the meditation may be either guided or silent. There are cushions (or chairs if you prefer) or you may bring your own mat or pillow. We welcome therapists (from our practice and also from others) clients, area healers, and people from the community. It is open and diverse, bringing the loving energies of all into the circle.

We have also begun offering Chanting at 7am the same morning, preceding the meditation. Chanting is repetition of a word or sound (we use songs) to help open up the chakras, lift the person to a more personal connection with one’s higher power, and to calm and silence the noise within, offering a sacred experience. Participants sit on cushions or backjacks (we provide or you can bring your own) or a chair, facing the east, and led by the facilitator. You can bring sacred objects in, use a prayer shawl to cover yourself, or relax and enter into the sacred space in the manner you prefer. You can sing or just sit and take it all in; the choice is always personal. You may also bring instruments (drums, tambourine, shakers, etc.) to use. The process is easy to learn, and the rhythm, the words and music, as well as the repetition, help to raise the vibration of each participant. It is a great way to begin any day!
We invite any and all to join us in both of these. Our east door is unlocked at that time and you may go directly down the stairs. If the room door is shut, just enter quietly and find a spot. There is no charge and we welcome all to bring and share your love. Wholeness Healing Center has long been a leader in bringing healing to our community, and this too is a way to do some self-care, joining likeminded humans to promote the spread of love and compassion in our world.

If you have questions, you may call our office at 308.382.5297, Ext. 110, or better yet, come on Thursday mornings and join in, adding your energies to ours!
