Hello, I'm
Riley Smith

Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker
Licensed Independent Mental Health Practitioner 

Riley Smith, LIMHP, LCSW (she/her/hers), has been working at Wholeness Healing Center since February 2020. She sees clients in the Ord office and virtually. Riley sees individuals of all ages, including children, adults, and families. Riley graduated with a Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Iowa and her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology of Counseling from Morningside University.  

As a therapist, Riley believes it is most effective to meet people where they are and help them understand themselves fully. She believes in aiding her clients along their journey of self-discovery and helping them identify their strengths to fulfill their wellness goals. 

Experience 

Riley has previously worked as a program director of an intensive outpatient program where she helped clients work through the effects of aging, grief and loss, depression, and anxiety. Riley’s experience increased knowledge of rural Nebraska and allowed her to identify needs specific to clients experiencing all types of concerns. Riley has additional experience working with clients of all ages and has worked in the fields of substance abuse, child welfare, trauma, end-of-life, aging, and family therapy. Riley recognizes that attachment and trauma have a significant impact on a person’s life and aims to equip her clients with the tools necessary to function at their optimum. Riley assists families and other support networks to provide help to their loved ones who have been affected by trauma. 

Training 

She holds a certificate in end-of-life care and has received training focused on trauma, Child-Parent Psychotherapy, Parent-Child Interaction Therapy, EMDR, attachment, DBT, CBT, grief and loss, and Gottman Method Couples Therapy Level 1. She has also completed training in critical incident stress management. Riley has facilitated DBT groups and mindfulness group therapy sessions. 

Riley also has training in animal-assisted therapy and is a member of Healing Hearts Therapy dogs. Riley uses her dog, Fern, in her practice to help promote healing and bring safety to clients. 

Personal 

Riley enjoys spending time with her family, being outdoors and traveling. Riley is a member of the National Association of Social Workers.
