WHC Ord Office Moves into New Building with Expanded Mission

Riley Smith, Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker, joins forces with her husband, Taylor Smith, Chiropractor, to bring holistic services together in one location. Riley tells the story of how this all came to fruition.

As we open this new building, bringing together chiropractic care, massage therapy, and mental health care, we are working towards filling a need of our community and also, a dream that has been long standing in our hearts. We will always remember when we first realized how closely tied our jobs are. As a mental health therapist, somatic symptoms such as, chronic pain, headaches, and others have always been present in diagnosis such as anxiety and depression among other mental health diagnoses. When my husband, Taylor, a chiropractor, shared research studies on chronic back pain, headaches, autoimmune disorders, etc. with me, we realized that we were treating some of the same concerns for people in our area. Immediately, my mind went to, how can we use each other’s philosophies to help people in a more holistic, enriching way?

Approximately six years ago we had the first conversation of how this idea could become a reality. We started having conversations about what would be the most beneficial? How could we work this into our current philosophies and make things really mesh?

When I joined Wholeness Healing Center in 2019, I was very excited about what this could mean, and these thoughts and ideas were received with gratitude and a desire to learn more about what this could mean for the future of treatment of mental health. This idea continued to grow and manifest into a reality.

In October of 2020 we were able to obtain the space needed to start this journey. Over the past year and a half, we have been working through details and finding the personnel needed to hoist this dream into a reality with building contractor Quattrocchi Construction. I am quite certain that we will always keep the philosophy of listening to our clients and patients to assist in mirroring their needs as we journey forward. In the summer of 2

Located within the building: Wholeness Healing Center, Smith Chiropractic, and Miss Emma’s “Lil Piece of Heaven” (massage therapist). Wholeness Healing Center moved to the new building in May 2022.
