A Book Review: Here’s to You
This is a very short review of a very short book I was recently gifted with, but one I think worth mentioning. Written by Dan Zadra and Kristel Wells, Here’s To You is a succinct honoring of all that is good within us.
With each characteristic, (Here’s to your Uniqueness, Here’s to your Contribution, Here’s to your Depth), the book features a focus, accompanied by a quotation to guide the directed thinking. I would like to share a couple of my personal favorites:
Here’s to your DESTINY: “A possibility was born the day you were born and it will live as long as you live”. (Marcus Solero)
Here’s to your GOODNESS: “The work of your heart, the work of taking time, to listen, to help, is also your gift to the whole of the world.” (Jack Kornfield)
Here’s to your POTENTIAL: “Believe that you can go on growing now and through all eternity. Drive your stake far out into the future.” (Abigail Tritton)
Here’s to your UNIQUENESS: “Today you are you! That is truer than true! There is no one alive who is you-er than you.” (Dr. Suess)
And from the back cover: “The world needs hundreds of thousands more people like you.” (Evette C)
This is a nice little book to give someone, to remind others of their value in the world, to shine light on things we have which we sometimes deny or overlook, or just to spread gratitude for all that we each contribute in our ways.
