Adjunct Modalities: A Plethora of Options

Last year, during a self-care weekend, I was introduced to the practice of vibroacoustic relaxation sound therapy. I was intrigued, as I so enjoyed the session. I had long been toying with the idea of checking out adjunct modalities and just decided at that time to visit some places and through a series of articles, to introduce our readers to some services available in our state. My hope is that this can be an ongoing and continuing addition to our newsletter.

Self-care is important and most therapists I know strongly encourage clients (and each other) to seek out a variety of services that address self-care. I wish to offer information in this article of 3 places where vibroacoustic sessions are available.

I will begin with the first one I had the pleasure of enjoying and that was provided by Mind Body Balance Breathe, a Wellness Spa located in Gothenburg. I actually was able to enjoy the experience at a weekend retreat, as the practitioner traveled with her equipment there. The equipment was a chair, which you sat in and it surrounded you, wearing headphones to enjoy the music. They offer 10, 35, and 60 minute sessions. I was amazed at how relaxing the experience was. Mind Body Balance Breathe has 3 practitioners, offering up a variety of options, including Salt Infrared Sauna, Ionic Foot “Tox”, Oxygen bar, Reiki, Access Bars, Facials, Lash treatments, Waxing, several types of massage, and a couple Mask options, to name a few. I was so intrigued by the experience that I then decided I needed to follow up on some other options. Mind Body Balance Breathe can be found at www.mindbody.balancebreathe.com or reached at 308.365.2169. If you are in that area, please take the opportunity to check out their services.
My next trip was to Grand Island to Sana Vida. I actually heard about them at the self-care intensive weekend I had attended so was eager to have that experience. I actually opted for their “Works” option, which included the Vibroacoustic bed, a 30 minute massage chair session, and an hour long “float”, in the salt water pool. All were quite enjoyable, although I have to report that the salt water float provided a degree of relaxation that was quite unexpected. They had a couple viboracoustic beds, which, while a bit different from the chair experience, was enjoyable in its own way. I have since returned to Sana Vida, to experience their Hyperbaric Oxygen Chamber, which is also a “must do”. In addition they also offer services that include Infrared sauna, herbal foot soaks and reflexology, massage therapy, Yoga, and now Frequency Specific Microcurrent Therapy, Red Light Therapy, and Auricular Therapy have been added. They can be reached at 308.754.1136, or www.sanavidawc.com and they seem to be adding options all the time, so everyone should find something there to enjoy!

My most recent experience was at Finding Your Frequency, lying on a vibroacoustic bed that had an added sensory resonance that included music, smells, and sights, billed as a “vibroacoustic immersion” as it is different than both the others. It truly did engage all senses, which heightened the experience. The energy practitioner, Libbie Dethloff, is present during the experience, monitoring and facilitating the experience. She has created her own bed, using the frequencies, as well as light, sound, and smell, to enhance the client’s immersion. This is the only service she offers, usually scheduled on weekends, and is quite knowledgeable explaining the process. Services can be scheduled at http://findyourfrequencygi.square.site or through email at findyourfrequencygi@gmail.com. Libby’s practice is located inside Harmonious Holistic Health LLC at 364 N. Walnut St., Grand Island.

My intention is to search out and report on options available. At Wholeness Healing Center we are open to referring to and supporting places who offer adjunct modalities that further enhance our clients’ experiences. These 3 places were chosen first as I wanted to introduce the vibroacoustic availability. While it is fairly new to our area, there is information about the benefits from this modality. While not everyone enjoys the same thing, I think it is always nice to know the varied options in our area. Massage is a great option and I will always recommend that, and I am excited to report other places and services available. I look forward to expand this as an option in our newsletter to help make others in our area more aware of what is available. My experience with all 3 of the vibroacoustic modalities, while all quite different, all get a “thumbs up” from me.
